FlashWine is an independent study application for WSET Level 3 & Level 4 wine education, developed by Quentin Sauvage. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and your rights.
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from the respective identity provider. We do not receive or store your password.
Study progress. Quiz results, XP points, daily streak data, and imported study packs are stored locally on your device and, when you are signed in, synchronised to Firebase (Google) under your account.
Tasting notes. Content you create in collaborative tasting sessions is stored in Firebase Realtime Database under your account.
Crash and usage data. We do not use any third-party analytics SDK. Firebase may collect minimal crash reporting data as part of its core service.
2. How We Use Your Information
To identify your account and sync your study progress across devices.
To provide AI-generated tasting note suggestions (processed by a third-party LLM API; no personally identifiable information is sent).
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third party for advertising purposes.
3. Third-Party Services
Firebase (Google LLC) — authentication and real-time database. Firebase Privacy
Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. To delete your account and all associated data, sign in to the app, go to Settings → Delete Account, or contact us at the address below. We will delete your data within 30 days of the request.
5. Children
FlashWine is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
6. Security
All data in transit is encrypted using TLS. Built-in question banks are stored as AES-256-GCM encrypted files on your device.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
